Perfectly named, Voodoo Bayou is exactly the beautiful scent you’d expect. Like standing alongside the Mississippi in the French Quarter at midnight with the spices and fragrant florals of the city laces with a little voodoo magic.

This is my 3rd Halloween purchasing this candle. It sets the mood perfectly. It is reminiscent of Florida water cologne, a fog machine and swamp moss/dirt which THANK YOU. Too many candles out there are too sweet or musky. This one hits just right.

I grew up in the south, not far from New Orleans. Somehow this fits so well. If you have been to the south, you know the air is different there. This conjures up a cool, foggy nights, the ones that feel like magic. I think it is the subtle incense smokiness and a green sweetness that make this feel wild and ancient and give it so much character. It is a light smell but still distinct. This is my favorite scent from Spireside and I have tried many!

I LOVE this scent! Its a lighter scent but it smells very much like dark mossy magic. I've never smelled another candle like it! I for sure will buy this one again, I'm obsessed!

What an excellent candle! Louisiana has a solemn quietness to it. The giant live oak trees and hanging moss that move spectrally in an otherwise deathly stillness. The bayous are haunted by the voodoo priests of time gone by. This remarkable fragrance will take to the gate of this world and the one beyond. Papa Legba waits! Highly recommend.

This candle reminds me of the Graveyard candle that Spireside had. It smelled exactly as it sounds like and that is fresh dirt and it was wickedly wonderful. This is a great substitute and I love the mix of the moss and grass smells. I know it sounds weird, but it really works well together. This is my go-to scent for scary movies!

Voodo Bayou is darker and more sinister than ghostly castle. It seems to have a hint of danger. It seems to have more of an herb or musty swampy magic smell with a bit of a bite to it. Must be the gators.... I can definently see the appeal but i largely prefer Ghostly Castle. :)

I added Voodoo Bayou on a whim while stocking up on my fave (Ghostly Castle) and was pleasantly surprised at how much I love this one! The scent is smoky but sweet with a hint of spice. Like all Spireside candles, it doesn’t smell like any other candle I’ve ever encountered, with a more complex and mysterious scent than those you usually find. The throw from a single wick candle is insane; I can smell it all over the house. Highly recommended!

So far I've bought Voodoo Bayou, Alchemists Fire, Siren Seas, Lost Island, Mystic Space Headless Horseman Ride, and Ghostly Castle. I'm honestly obsessed with them, but Voodoo Bayou is my favorite. It's fresh, fruity, and crisp, and I haven't found another candle that smells like it. The candles are a bit pricy but you definitely get what you pay for.

This was my first buy from Spireside. Being from New Orleans, I saw the name of the candle, and I had to try it. I must say it didn't disappoint. Made me think of just relaxing in a boat on the bayou, strolling past all the moss trees,listening to nature, just perfect. This has a fragrance like no other. So this one is more masculine.. kind of like a Caribbean teakwood cologne.. but as with all these amazing candles, it has layers and phases of different scents as you use the product. At first it smells spicy and warm, kinda masculine on a cold sniff. But once you get it burning it creates an entire atmosphere that relaxes me and puts me in the perfect headspace for reading, relaxing, hanging out. I personally bought it bc I was reading an Anne rice book and it fit. I love how perfectly whimsical everything is. This company is so perfect for bibliophiles

Ever been to New Orleans in the spring (not on Bourbon St)? Early morning walking past artisan shops with fresh herbs and flowers and side streets with fleur de lis capped iron fencing with new green growths wrapping tendrils around the shiny black paint. This candle picks up a few of those particularly lovely scents and wraps it in a waxy memory of burning light.
