To say that I’m obsessed with this scent is putting it lightly. The whole house gets this intoxicating, other-worldly smell. I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s magical. I’ve loved all of the scents I’ve tried from this company, but none of them hold a candle (get it?) to this one. The vibe that it gives is one of reading a really old book in a library filled with old leather bindings and musty pages and there’s a fire roaring in the fireplace, with something sweet being mulled over the fire. There’s something masculine about it, but also something feminine. It’s the coziest, most inspiring smell. Just try it!

The closer you get to the Alchemist's Tower in the Forbidden Temple the stronger the smell of his otherwordly flame gets. It's mystical and smoky but not like campfire or gunpowder. Has a calming effect and has strong good scent throw but never feels overpowering to me. Smells great alone or with Forbidden Temple! My second favorite to Ghostly Castle.

I received my first shipment from Spireside just today and am burning my Alchemist’s Fire candle alongside my Enchanted Library candle and the fragrance is quite comfort provoking. Like moist leather from old books and crisp, crackly white paper pages. The fragrance is not male nor female (my husband likes it). Scent is not at all overwhelming but you know it’s there. I definitely will be purchasing again soon from Spireside and will be telling my friends to visit the sight.

Alchemist's Fire makes me think of Golden Lane in Prague, which has a historical/storied connection to alchemists. The wax smells just like the sweet potions and wooden chests I would expect an alchemist to work with. The coconut smell is barely identifiable but it brings a counterpoint to the musk scent. As suggested, I tried Alchemist's Fire with Forbidden Temple and found they were compatible and interesting together. I really enjoy this bright yet musky scent.

Weve enjoyed this scent all throuhout th seasons. It lasts an lasts. Our box of wax melts carried us through at least 6 months or more of use. I just ordered the bundle of headless horseman, ghostly castle and enchanted library as we head into October but Alchemist will continue to be a year-round fave!

How do they do it? This smells mysterious, divine and exactly what I imagine an alchemist's lab smells like! I smell all of the woodsy scents identified in the description. No particular scent dominates. It is just a wonderful alchemist mixture. It is my favorite scent so far and I highly recommend it!

Alchemist fire was one of the first scents I ordered through Spireside. It's a wonderful comforting blend of scents. I predominantly get the coconut, vanilla, and soft musk, but it's a bodycare coconut. I feel it is an expensive smelling scent and I love it. My advice for all these candles/wax is don't judge them cold. They really transform once they get warmed

Along with Forbidden Temple this was my second purchase. The write up and description from other reviewers were spot on. I burned this alone occasionally but mostly at the same time as Forbidden Temple. While I think Pirates Revenge is still my favorite, I have to say Alchemist Fire (and Forbidden Temple) come in a close second and I will definitely purchase again.

I admit this candle was not what I was expecting based on the description, BUT I like it, so the point must have gotten across somehow! To me, it smells of incense without the smoke- there is a distinct smooth amber base, and then the woods come out once the candle is fully melted. The candle has good throw without being overwhelming- in fact, I think you could burn this candle in a store, or in a house with roommates, and it would be very unlikely to offend anyone's senses. It makes a nice, calming background scent.

This candle is absolutely amazing! Like others have said; unique scent that’s very inviting! Can’t stop burning it! Was actually burning Viking voyage in the next room and they surprisingly weren’t intruding each other. Walking into the room with Viking voyage after Alchemist Fire burning; was like walking out of a tower room located in the middle of the sea. Who knew unintentionally mixing scents would be enchanting!

Took a chance on this candle and I have to say it was one of the best choices I could have made! Rich, slightly spicy, and sweet, it's a really amazing combination of scents. While burning, the aroma fills my large open concept flat very well. At night, it makes me think of a tower room where magic is brewing away amidst bubbling cauldrons. This was my first time ordering from Spireside so I went with two sample packs. The Alchemist's Fire sounded intriguing, but I was unsure if this was a good choice. When I opened the sample packs, this was the one I set aside to try last because I was really put off by the unlit scent. When I finally got around to trying it, was I surprised! It is a warm, layered, and mystical fragrance -- a perfect balance of the sweet vanilla and coconut elements, rich and comforting amber, and the earthy blend of the various wood scents. While it is not a faint scent, it is also not at all overpowering. And I am very sensitive to perfumes and candles that are too strong. I actually carry it upstairs and put it (unlit) on my night table so that I can smell it when I am going to sleep and when I wake up. I am so glad that I tried The Alchemist's Fire. It will definitely be a repeat order for me, and I also included it in a sample pack I just ordered for my daughter.

It is a complex almost magical scent. Not overly masculine but not floral and feminine. I use this with either amount Olympus or ForgottenTemple now and then and it is an incredible combination, especially if you like strong fragrance.

Alchemist's Fire exceeded my expectations, because I really only tried it for the name! Personally, I tend to dislike bold flavors and scents, so this choice was a risk. I'm glad I read the description and reviews, as there is a lot packed into this candle and previous reviews comment on the strength of its scent. You've got vanilla, coconut, amber, mahogany, sandalwood, and more...not to mention the muskiness that blends it all together! Normally this type of scent would be far too rich and intoxicating - BUT, Spireside did it right (again). The strong, sweet notes compliment the oaky, earthy undertones to create a truly mesmerizing experience. I'm definitely glad to have taken a chance on this *magical* delight.

Alchemist's Fire is a little strong to be sure, but with a scent this good, you'll want it to permeate your space. It is both spicy and sweet, and perfectly enhances the mood of my "woman cave," which is part library, part crystal collection. I feel like I'm brewing some magical potion on one of my altars, which serves as fantastic inspiration for writing fiction and poetry. And the recommendation to burn with Forbidden Temple is not just so they can make an extra sale! The scents really do complement each other. Forbidden Temple is not as strong, but the incense spice of it just makes Alchemist's Fire that much more perfect.

To start, I haven't found a bad scent here, so don't think that. This one is just a bit too flowery/sweet for me. Looking at the description again, I think it might be the sandlewood. This is NOT stopping me from using the candle. I rely on reviews, so that's why I'm posting here. My favorite is Beast's Castle in the fall/winter and Jungle Cruise in spring/summer (oddly enough, that's VERY flowery, but it's a lovely, light scent.) I think it would be fine if you're looking for something more masculine. I really enjoy a musky scent and the amber calls to me.

I am just enchanted (no pun intended), with this subtlety sweet, luscious scent! It's very lightly masculine as well as feminine and transports me across time. The woody whispers make me think of lots of chests with lots of drawers I can dip into where precious recipes, glass orbs, jars of sweet sugars and bottles of warm spices are kept.
