For me, this is my favorite fall candle. We have a table that we decorate with Sleepy Hallow fare every Halloween and I absolutely love that there is a candle to go with it. It is not too sweet, which is the best part of it. And it does slightly remind me of the smell of a jackolantern with a candle inside burning the pumpkin. We buy one every year!

Not sure why it’s taken me so long to review this candle. It’s my absolute favorite and I’m very sensitive when it comes to scents. I burn this constantly and while I associate it with October for obvious reasons, it’s really a scent that’s enjoyable for the entirety of fall or the rest of the year. It’s complex, cozy, hits all the right notes, it’s far from your “basic” fall candle, which all seem to smell like some soapy combination of unpleasant spices. It’s magic. Buy it.

This is by far my favorite fall candle. It is complex with multiple scent notes. It's not sweet or cloying like many candles that have any hint of pumpkin in them. The scent description is spot on. You do smell wet fall leaves in the mix, and it it's wonderful.

This has become my go-to seasonal candle for Halloween aside from the Voodoo candle. I place this one next to our pumpkins and Sleepy Hollow diorama cut out and it just puts the house in the creepy fall mood. Most pumpkin candles are too sweet. This one is a little sweet but not overpowering. The scent throw is immense and fills the kitchen. I do kinda wish it had more of a burning pumpkin undertone to match the idea of the headless horseman but I am not complaining maybe a slight suggestion only. Will always buy this candle either way.

I love this candle! It is a unique take on a fall scent. I've never smelled anything like it. It invites you in and whisks you away to cozy fires and pumpkin patches. I went through it so fast the first time I bought it, I just did the subscription because I know I will keep burning it no matter what season it is!

If you like all the fall pumpkin scents out there but often find them a little cloying, try this one. While it is definitely sweet pumpkin based, the sweetness is grounded with the earthy fragrance of leaves. It does not have any of the vanilla or baked-buttery-cake notes common to pumpkin candles. Also love the label and name- just gets me in that good Halloween spirit. If you have a woodfire scent from any other company, I HIGHLY recommend burning that alongside Headless Horseman. It really fits with the candle's (and the Sleepy Hollow story's) mood. Hint hint, Spireside :)

I love candles but I hate how you smell one at the store, get it home, light it up and………NOTHING. No scent, nada Just a pretty little flame that will probably set my smoke detector off but that’s about as exciting as it gets. I stumbled upon Spireside and started browsing their selection. I saw Headless Horseman candle and I just had to. I got my candle and expected to be disappointed. I opened up the box and was floored by the scent. I was expecting the usual room freshener pumpkin spray but I was met with something much more interesting. The pumpkin is there but there is a bizarre smell one only encounters when you walk outside and the fallen leaves have been rained upon. It’s almost a sweet, rotting, dead smell. I’ll be honest I hated it at first but I kept going back to it throughout the day it grew on my quickly. By the time I left work I seriously wanted to lick the candle. Yes it smells so good you’d swear it’s edible. I got home and lit it up and a joyous and wonderful aroma filled my home. Pumpkins, cider and leaves. Sweet, spicy and a little pungent. I’m not sure how or what they use for oils but they have some real magicians working the kitchen there. I’m absolutely sold on this company. From the quirky artwork to the funny names to the not very typical aromas I hope this company does well. We need more companies like this. My only request is that they start making fragrance for men and women. I’d LOVE to see/try a men’s fragrance or even a unisex fragrance.

After only 10 minutes of burning this it has filled the main part of the house. I didn't expect this kind of throw in that short of time from a candle. Its a fantastic scent. I'm a first time buyer of Spireside candles and I can say honestly hands down these far surpass a really well known brand that I have been buying for years, but always felt I wasn't getting my money's worth. Spireside is worth every penny.
